Meal Idea Mondays - “Steak” Bomb Calzone
I’ve been eating a lot of red meat lately... well I usually do, because I’m typically someone with low iron & heme iron is well absorbed by the body. I notice a difference when my iron levels are low: headaches, tired, etc. So eating red meat definitely makes a difference for me. Anyway... here’s my latest creation:
Homemade “Steak” Bomb Calzone
Fed 2 adults (girls didnt eat but could have - they had pizza instead but this could have fed all 4)
- 1 lb of organic or grass fed ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 pack mushrooms, chopped
- 1 pizza dough
- sauce (optional)
- shredded mozzarella cheese (I don’t measure this out I just add to my hearts desire = lots of cheese)
Directions:
Sauté veggies in one pan (add seasoning/salt n peppa to taste)
Cook meat in pan (I like to add in mccormicks steak seasoning for extra flavor)
Set oven to 425
Roll out pizza dough, add sauce, veggies, meat & cheese to one half.
Roll empty side over full side.
Flip the bottoms up & fold over top.
Brush with olive oil (optional) & sprinkle with cheese (optional)
Bake for 15-20 min until lightly browned. (May vary by pizza dough + oven.
Enjoy!!
